FOR YOUR 2025 CAMPUS GRANT FOR 9/11 DAY


This AmeriCorps federal grant program, administered by 9/11 Day, is open to all U.S. colleges and universities, and national organizations with on-campus chapters and affiliates. Student organizations are also invited to apply, but they are encouraged to collaborate with the school administration or student affairs. Applicants should be able to demonstrate prior experience organizing volunteer service or other similar student events.

    Please note that projects that cannot be funded with federal AmeriCorps funds include (but are not limited to) projects that:

    • Attempt to influence legislation;
    • Organize or engage in protests, petitions, boycotts or strikes;
    • Assist, promote or deter union organizing;
    • Impair existing contracts for services or collective bargaining agreements;
    • Engage in partisan political activities, or other activities designed to influence the outcome of an election to any public office;
    • Participate in, or endorse, events or activities that are likely to include advocacy for or against political parties, political platforms, political candidates, proposed legislation or elected officials;
    • Engage in religious instruction, conduct worship services, provide instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization;
    • Provide a direct benefit to a business organized for profit; labor union; partisan political organization; nonprofit organization that fails to comply with the restrictions contained in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 related to engaging in political activities or substantial amount of lobbying except that nothing in these provisions shall be construed to prevent participants from engaging in advocacy activities undertaken at their own initiative; and any organization engaged in the religious activities described in paragraph above, unless 9/11 Day’s assistance is not used to support those religious activities;
    • Conduct a voter registration drive or using AmeriCorps funds to conduct a voter registration drive;
    • Provide abortion services or referrals for receipt of such services.

    9/11 Day reserves the right to reject any applications that may violate other rules related to federal funding, or for other reasons at its complete and sole discretion.
